BrowseLog — Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

BrowseLog is a Chrome extension that records the URLs you visit and stores them locally on your device. This policy explains what data is collected, where it is stored, and what is done with it.

What data is collected

When you navigate to a page, BrowseLog may record:

Where data is stored

All data is stored exclusively in browser.storage.local on your own device. Nothing is transmitted to any server, third party, or external service. BrowseLog has no backend, no account system, and no analytics.

What data leaves your device

None. BrowseLog does not make any network requests. Your browsing history never leaves your machine.

Permissions used

Data retention

You control how long history is kept via the "Keep history for" setting (default: 30 days). Entries older than the chosen period are deleted automatically on browser startup. You can also delete individual entries or export and clear your history at any time from the extension popup.

Data sharing

Your data is never sold, shared, or disclosed to any third party — because it never leaves your device in the first place.

Children's privacy

BrowseLog does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
